To go back to the original post, I have built a linear regulated 12V supply for my modem to replace the wall wart, but it didn't work. I was getting a solid 12 volts from the supply, the lights on the modem came on, but would not "engage", for lack of a better word. What did I do wrong? The wall wart was measured at 12v, the linear supply was 12v. I'm thinking of adjusting the voltage up a bit, to 12.6V or so, but if anyone has a better idea, I am all ears.
