transport to the DAC. some of us consider it inacceptable, that a
problem is created at that point.Technological problems in converting digital data into voltage are
a whole different case where i can imagine much bigger reasons why
one DAC sounds better or worse than another, but that's not my area
of competence.I take it as granted that generally digital transport has so much
advantage over analog mediums that the problems of A/D and D/A are
a lesser evil. Although the question may be raised at what resolution
digital data is superior to tape or vinyl, and to what listening
purpose.But that was not the point in this discussion.
