There could be some real validity to that idea. Might be a fun thing to look at in pspice, the "modulation" effects of a "poor" power supply on the signal. Off the cuff I'd say it probably boosts even order harmonic generation giving a touch of euphonics to the music. Gets into areas of study I've only dabbled in. I'd think the effects would be variable with frequency and level.
If the powersupply overshoots its going to give a "boost" to the signal, which may improve dynamics.
