http://www.tubelab.com/SimpleSE_schematic.htmthis amp has a simple 12aT7 front end, and which I can directly attest does a very good job driving the KT88. I used fixed battery bias, which sounded wonderful.
It is also good to load the 12AT7 with a CCS, (G Pimm Batt CCS) but just a plate load resistor sounds surprisingly good.
