Re: What's the SIMPLEST 50W or higher Amp Schematic but best sound you've heard ?

I just built a high quality cap input power supply using some milspec transformers from Surplus Sales. Used a 12uf GE motor run cap followed by a military surplus 5 hy choke and then (horrors) 2 high quality nichicon electrolytics (PW series I think, they sound really good) in series at the output. As rectifiers I used damper diodes. The amps have been in service for several years and people love the sound. I did use V-caps in the coupling positions in the amp for what it's worth. Also for the bias supply I used Black Gates, the bypass caps in the bias supply really make a difference - also used a choke in the bias supply. I suppose you could use a regulator but they generally give things an edgy sound that bothers me. I built the amps up in a large chassis so I'd have room for the overkill in the power supply.
