How fragile are beam-forming plates? The 6bm8/ecl82's brother 6gw8/ecl86 is a beam tetrode rather than a true pentode despite schematic drawing to the contrary. While having no 6bm8 in poccession to examine, I suspect this eclxx family sibling is similar contruction to the 6gw8 that I do have. FWIW, the 6gw8 has been previously reported here to be exceptionally linear when triode-strapped.
