Hi ,
I use schottkeys with LC smoothing . If its single ended I use an LM1084 as a CCS feeding (or fed by) a CMC choke . Push pull ditto but LM1084 connected as a series reg . With both schemes the filaments have a bypass cap directly at the socket along with the CMC . Adding 'pre-reg' series regs , RC stages or CMCs in front of the CCS/series reg makes no difference to the sound . LM317 are the worst sounding reg for DHT's but are fine for IDHT's .cheers
