The 'sound of DC heaters' does not apply in your case as the heaters are not within the signal path . But does your equipment actually suffer from hum and if so is this hum heater or hum-loop induced ? If it does not hum then why the need to implement DC heaters , hence my comments . If it aint broke , don't fix it :) I only use DC for DHTs as my speakers are sensitive , I don't feel the need for anything but AC for IDHT's , there's just no point unless it's for phono stage useage . All you need to do with AC is to ensure that the heaters float above the cathodes (around +20V) and if your IDHT's hum with AC (non-phono stage environment) then there's something flawed with either the design or the valves that are in it
