To All:I fully agree that cassette can sound great! I have a heavily
modified & tweeked Sony TCK-670 3 head machine that makes wonderful
recordings from vinyl & CD. I had a topic thread below that asked
about the idea of maximum cassette fidelity using current state of
the art design & parts for a deck (and some of the best blank tapes
from the past). My thinking is that such a deck would provide an extremely high degree of fidelity that would blow off most CD in
terms of sounding like real music. And I suspect that some of the
best consumer reel to reel recorders of the past (using some of the same tape formulations as high end cassette) would be in a class by
themselves.Dan
