I figured this Forum needed a little excitment

Seriously, though, have you been able to compare your Nak to other less expensive decks? A have a number of decks myself, a collection of 3-head machines...Luxman,Sony, Pioneer, Marantz. Back in the heyday of cassette, I always wanted a Nak or maybe a Tandberg, but could never afford them. I've always wanted to do a A/B comparison.

I was also scared of Nak's because I know of some guys who had repair issues...their Nak's were laid up for 6 to 8 months at a time waiting for parts from Japan. Perhaps Nak's are like exotic sports cars; you need a second deck for a back up so when the main deck is laid up for repairs....

Some of the cheaper models seem to appear for sale...any thoughts on them...are they worth, say $500-600??
