Re: Maxell XL-IIS vs Sony UX-Pro-X

I can confirm the durability of XLII-S. I have some 25 tapes from 1981-3 recorded off my then super rig and they still sound amazing. My only regret is using Dolby C in the recording process. I found the SA-X to be "edgy" on practically everything I recorded. That edgyness extends into videotape also. Sony Metal was a slight step sown from XLII-S and the only tape to better it was of course the brilliant MX-S. When I dubbed somne of the above to it it actually seemed slightly more "live". God knows why!
