Hi:
No one tape sounds the same on two different decks and systems. Both the MAXELL XL-IIS ( early version ) and SONY UXPRO are great tapes. I have never heard or seen a SONY UXPRO-X though. It might be a Japanese domestic issue. The SONY UXPRO uses a ceramic tape guide but I do not know how much it helps the tape shell to damp out vibration. My suggestion is always listen to both tapes ( if you could ) and pick the one that you like the most or keep both. Good Luck.
