Thanks for the response. The UX-Pro with the X was an improved generation with a total new double couting and even backcouting(!) like the Metal Vertex. The UX-S with the X got a new double couting like the SA-X.

In contrast the XL-IIS had been always a single couted tape.

You can identify it with the big X in the background and the code UXSC or UXPROC. It might be an european domestic issue and had been made from the same people which manufactured the Super Metal Master in Italy. This might be the highest quality develeopment of Sony like TDK did with MA-EXtended in 1998.

Later generations of UX tape carried only the glamorous name and had not been made in Italy but had a different cassette shell and tape.

When I compare the XL-IIS with the UX-PRO X the Sony has more dynamic and clear sound.
