A Good Reel To Reel ....

will kill any cassette deck, yes even a Nak or Tandberg. I had a Dragon and still have my TEAC X10R reel to reel. The X10 totally destroyed the Dragon. If you you're recording and listening to tapes only in your home then I would not bother with a cassette deck, remember that recordings were put down on reels first before they were pressed onto records unless it was direct to disc. But if you're like me and still use cassette tapes in the car then a good cassette deck is still a requirement. I use a DBX 224II noise reduction unit and with this the background hiss is totally gone I mean nothing with my ear right up to the speaker and I can't tell the difference from the LP to the tape. Just some thing to think about.
