I just got 40 EMTEC (ex. BASF) Super Chrome tapes for .60 a pop that are just as good if not better than TDK-SAX and as good (different sound) than the XLIIS. SKC also manufactures Metal tapes that are the equal of the MA and MX of the 80s. At $7.50 a pop they aren't cheap, but much cheaper than the amount people are paying on ebay for old Maxell and TDK metals.I recorded a Police SACD on my Dragon with the SKC and except in the extreme high registers (Cymbals) and a bit of vocal texture, it did one hell of a job. $7.50 as opposed to $14.99 for a new SACD. Love the Library.
