Home Tape Trail

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

You're asking for the keys to the kingdom!

If the cat gets out of the bag this just makes more competition for the few tapes that have not been taken to the landfill. Most all of the Ampex duplicated tapes (Ampex duplicated for most of the labels) are fine until the 1966 Dolby craze hit and ussured in the move to 3 3/4 ips. I won't buy 3 3/4 ips tapes. I'm sure your musical tastes are unique and so it's simply a matter of finding the composer and artists you prefer. The finer tapes were made in a era when people had values beyond profit which today seems a thing of the past. Maybe things go in cycles and it may return some day. Let's hope! Good luck! Ray Hughes
"I take you as you are
And make of you what I will,
Skunk-bear, carcajou, bloodthirsty
Non-survivor.
Lord, let me die but not die out." THE LAST WOLVERINE by James Dickey
