Yes, if you want to forget about NAB or CCIR EQ and use custom heads and custom electronics with new EQ, wonderful things can happen but not at competitive prices. But what if Quantegy, the only manufacturer of tape decides that enough is enough like most American businesses do when volume cuts out. They've already been in bankrupsy. I don't mean to be overly negative. Yes, Tim D and Keith J can do wonderful things but for a PRICE. I know"....if you have to ask you can't afford." I think it would prove more productive if we could convince the record companies that there is a small market for quality and come up with an audiophile CD, with 6 channels and 32 bit, 400khz sampling rates.
