But seriously;I have tried a goodly numbers of tweaks, some gave me results on my system (vibration isolation of my components, upgrading cables from zipcord, tube rolling) and some did not result in noticable improvements (cryo'd tubes, dampening of chassis vibration, lifting cables off the floor)
I, due to my somewhat limited technical background HAVE, to rely on listening tests to make my decisions. I can and do DOUBT some claims based on technical or scientific merit (or lack thereof) but in the end, for better or worse, I trust my ears to tell me what works in my system, in my room, with my music.
I DO think that others who dismiss things SOLEY based on theory should accept that they perhaps are not giving these tweaks, etc. a fair chance.
The human ear and brain are powerful tools and are valid parts of any testing procedure. To ignore them or to deny them IMHO is folly, especially since the treatise we are testing ends in the human ear and brain as final "client".
