It is really tough to implant information here.

Quoting from the master: "You know, it is really tough to implant information here."

I just did a quick survey of the last fifteen jc posts and found only two statements that could send even a little shivver up anyone's spine. The above was one (and indisputably true, more later) and the other is a reference to the "'hear no differences' fraternity". Yet look at the negative responses to a receptive note by John.

Now I've had some run-ins with that fraternity myself, from the very first moment I entered the high end of audio. What I usually got was ridicule, ridicule, ridicule... the insincerest form of opposition. "Take my precious time to listen to that crap? You gotta be kidding."

Remember back when I was trying to explain the phenomenon of Absolute Polarity? There was a lot of huffing and puffing but not a lot of close attention paid. John, among others, stepped in with a couple of recommendations but I gather (from results to date) these came to naught. Finally I observed that if you try it you'll hear it, unless your system has scads of phase distortion or you rely on pop material.

And even after several voices piped up and said polarity was a big deal for them too, we never heard back from the dissenters. It *is* tough to implant new information here, but please don't anyone stop trying!
