Steve had a good idea in testing an impulse from a speaker and measure the results. However, in my set-up, I have several sets of cabling on the way to the amp, so it would be a challenge to isolate just one cable. Maybe someone with a receiver that could use their tape loop would be a better choice.Why? Just take a cable and use some resistors to load it with 1k at one end and 100k at the other end and place it in close proximity to the loudspeaker and fire an impulse at it and see if you can turn up anything.
If not, we can try some other things. But the cable needn't be hooked up to the system that's producing the acoustic impulse.
