Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

I think you will find it is a bit more than an opinion and the proportion of people who do not know it in the audio profession is small to negligible.

> You need to talk to Dan Banquer, he apparently has evidence it to contrary, in fact in support of the notion that even DBT's can demonstrate such sonic differences he asid:
> "From what I read on my pro audio thread, the pro guys have been finding differences for years. They don't bother publishing the results because they don't get paid for it, and as we all know, no good deed goes unpunished." (see below for source).

Now Dan's business is selling fairly expensive solid state amplifiers and so he would be very foolish to say something similar to what I said in public. However, what Dan has said is not evidence and Dan is not claiming that it is. He is simply passing on information that will help his cause and I have no reason to believe it is untrue. This is the tricky path that he and many others at the sharp end would seem to have to walk if they wish to market successfully to the high end audio sector without overly compromising their integrity. Others such as myself who are not in the high end audio trade can be blunt.

It is pity that small manufacturers like Dans are not being more successful in the high end audio sector. It is also a pity he has to take care with his words rather than relaxing and positively promoting his products on my two caveats of clipping and load plus the other advantages his amplifiers are likely to have over cheaper ones. But I guess this is the downside of potential customers full of nonsense about subjective differences and little technical understanding.
