Carbon fiber technology has already been introduced to audio when van den Hul made cables from what amounted to spark plug cables which are made from carbon fiber.What the article you mentioned is talking about are carbon nanotubes which are rather different from carbon fiber which is made by running a thread of synthetic yarn through a long oven which gradually heats the yarn turning it into carbon.
