Thanks for your response, db.

Your final comment had me thinking:

>I'll post results from the chart later. One question, are the mixers
>out's balanced also?

I just pulled out my Mixers manual and it reads that the mixer's Main outs (I'm not around my mixer to confirm this but) The Stereo outputs are all on a pair of unbalanced jacks (1/4") nominal output level of +4dBu. I do have a pair of Balanced XLR Main outputs (read to connect to the mastering recorder). Wired pin1 ground, pin2 hot, pin 3 cold. Maximum Level is +28 dBu. (before I ask my question read on)

Now my manual on the Samson Servo 550 Amplifire reads: The inputs are electronically balanced 1/4" TRS jacks. (I'm now trying to find what gave me the idea that it required a +4 dBu output level- and can only attain that to something in the manual that read: Apply an input signal to the amp at or about +4 dBu - if sending from a mixer set at 0 vu). So I'm assuming this means I'm not using the proper Main outs.

Now my question is: I have Balanced XLR Main Outs on my mixer and Balanced 1/4" inputs on my Servo 550 Amp - Are there balanced cables that go from Balanced XLR to Balanced 1/4"? I feel it's better to ask then to make an ass of myself and assume to just grab any wires for connection. I thought those XLR-1/4" TRS cables were for people with XLR mics and a mixer that didn't have XLR jacks. I appreciate the help!

Thanks!
Bren
