I know many will disagree with me here on this, but I would use what the pros use. And for good reason. Yamaha NS10's. Okay, so they are not the "best " 2 ways. What they DO Best, is translate. If you get your mix to sound nice on them, your mix will sound nice on all, even really cheap speakers. If you get a pair, and do not like them, the used market is so hot, you can turn them in a matter of days.

The major difference in pro speakers is flat midrange response, and linear effeciency. The can play extremely loud, for hours, with no damage, and they actually have a +/- 2dB curve, from 60, to 14 k.
