I was surprised as well. I loved the Ah Tjoeb! when I first got it compared to other CD players I had used, but it was bettered by my Rega 3, that I had at the time. Since then I upgraded my TT to a Teres 260 with a Moerch arm and the AH Tjoeb! just sounded so veiled compared to it. CDs became something I mostly used in the car. This is the first real interest I have had for digital since then and am somewhat disappointed, but the technology is so cool. I so want to find a way to make this work – I do believe this is the future. I am just not sure it is the NOW. Still, I want a good DAC that can handle high sampling rates and see what happens. I am thinking more and more that it is Redbook that is the real limited. I will see what happens when I start ripping the Vinyl, but first I need to at least get to the Status Quo.As to your question, all CDs have been created via EAC to waves, and from waves to FLAC. I am using a bolder coax digital cable.
So far I think I might get the Lavry or Benchmark (in that order) as they are refundable. The Nixon an Audio Mirror, while they look interesting do not seem to deal with the higher sampling rates I am interested in when I get to ripping the vinyl.
BTW, I would like to thank everyone for their comments and help. This forum, as always, has been a great help to me.
