Yes, it's a circlotron amp.

I'm not sure transformers are really a problem. Good output transformers can have hi-frequency bandwidth up to 200kc (Harmon Kardon Citation 2 for example) so the idea that output transformers are a bad thing is overblown. IMO.

Transformers let you match a low impedance speaker voice coil to your output tube. That's a good thing.

I like the circlotron output circuit. It's different and that makes it fun.

But I want the load line to be more horizontal to keep the distortion low.
(that's where the output transformer comes in)
