RE: What's it like at 16 ohms?

About 10 of the 60 watts are Class A and the 3rd harmonic distortion is at .6546% with the 5th at .188%.

I'm running 4 6as7gs (that's 8 triodes or 4 pairs) at 148 volts, 70ma. into 325 ohms. (I have a real good, low step up impedance, output transformer) I get 28.7 watts all Class A. Distortion is .0074% and .0003%

If a person had a pair of Paul's Zero autoformers set to 4 times and a 16 ohms speaker he would have a 64 ohm load. With 8 6as7gs he would get 40 watts, all Class A, at .0276% 3rd and .0018% 5th.

It's all about load lines. The higher the load impedance (to a point) the lower the distortion.
