And yes I see your point that "neutrality" should or could refer to the whole frequency spectrum, whereas "real-ism" might be mostly a function of midrange accuracy. Uh oh; doesn't "accuracy" sound like "neutrality"? I think what may be going on is the difference between what the ear/brain perceives as musical "reality" and accurate reproduction of the signal that is actually on the software (LP or CD/SACD). SETs may excel at the former job.
