The final result will always be much more dependent upon the speakers chosen. SETs relatively limit one's choices, but on high-efficiency, high impedance speakers can be heavenly. OTLs are available in a much wider range of power output(s) and therefore suited to a wider variety of speakers, as long as they have a relatively high input impedance. Even that disadvantage can be overcome (for either technology) with the use of impedance-matching autoformers (e.g.,Zeros). If you are thinking of using OTL on a speaker matched for an SET, just be sure the OTL is quiet enough not to make hum on a sensitive speaker, just as you would do if you were choosing an SET for the same job. Sorry if I have not answered your question specifically, but I don't think it really can be answered except in generalities.
