Hi Mark,
I'm not familiar with autotransformers and how they work. I've heard about them, thats all. Can you tell us a bit more about them being sonically inert?Transformers are funny beasts, like everything else in this hobby. Kurt had a pair of parafeed output transformers, nickel laminations, very high quality. With no DC going through the core, just like the Z transformer with an AS, less heat and distortion. Then he bought a pair of cobalt transformers. Special run from a surplus cache, likely not to happen again because the stuff is impossible to get. Net effect, it 'transformed' (get it? huck huck) Kurt's system. Seriously, it made a huge difference.
