Yes, the way I've put is that going from MCH to two-channel is like leaving the concert hall and going back home. Many years ago I was an early adopter of a digital time delay unit (the Advent 5000), which worked quite well. The major problem with those devices was that the hall acoustics were already recorded in the record, so the time-delayed signal was sort of a mish-mash. Still, properly adjusted, it added a nice dimension. I never went for quad. But SACD finally does it right!Joe
