Are you sure the Sony is actually playing the SACD layer on hybrid discs? Admittedly unlikely, but possible answer. Having said that, I just put Genius Loves Company on my CD only player and on first impression, it actually does sound better that way. Maybe Concord put all of their focus on the multi-channel layer, which I have not listened to.
