if a speaker that's rated as "full range" have problems with low frequencies, it's likely due to room interaction. in which case a sub won't really help either, it's likely to have similar issues. you can improve somewhat by positioning the sub separately from the main speaker, but in my experience you will only get marginal improvement. you will also get phase errors/misalignment, so in the end it's not worth it.having dual subs for the 0.1 channel however is a good idea. if you place them in different parts of the room, then the peaks and valleys (in terms of response) will be different so the average response across both subs will be a lot smoother.
i generally would advise against positioning subs at corners. sure, you get a LOT of bass due to wall reflections, but it's very non-linear.
so, in the end, my recommendation is still to purchase 5 (or 7) full range speakers, plus 1 sub (maybe 2) for the .1 channel. No bass management. you may not get a response all the way down to 20 Hz, but the best solution for that is get a different room (or house).
