Well i have to back up Quadzilla on this subject.
I do support both formats and i was wrong regarding DVD Audio since is on most cases a lie to consumer!1- My player, a Cambridge Audio 540 Azur CANNOT read ALL types of DVD-Audio, and i have around 50 titles (NOT DualDisc, REAL DVD-Audio titles) NOTE: I had to apply a firmware because if not, almost 10 titles could not be read at all!
2- The majority of DVD-Audio titles LIE to consumer regarding the true high-def stereo layer, they say its 192kHz/24bit when it's only 96kHz/24bit
3- A UNIQUE standard with FIXED RULES to produce a DVD-Audio title does NOT exist. I compared several discs and many software products add some "out of compliance" data that sometimes make the disc unreadable to some players
With SACD never had any problems, with any title or with my player (Sony)...
But i still like DVD-Audio, when it's produced and manufactured correctly, my preferred titles come from HDAD format 192/24 from Classic Records, amazing quality and sound. But keep in mind that I live in Europe and all this titles cost A LOT! Only but importation from the U.S.A.
I’m also sorry to check that ZS KEKL even after all this years keeps to post and answer to comments this way…
Best regards.
