My midfi system has only the DIY powerstrip between the amps and the wall too. So your use is analogous.

The Oyaide I got was already well burned in, as it was used and was tested by another inmate. However, I did not report for the first 48 hours and am glad I didn't because it exhibited anotehr burn in effect anyway. I guess if you unplug something for any length of time you have to go through some additional burn in, though not as long, when reattaching it.

I'll post what the downstream Furu does when I get to that, sure.
