Let me correct a couple things...The "A" designates controlled heater warm up time. The 12BH7 is originally a TV tube, and was used in series-string heater circuits where warm up time needed to be standardized. That's it, they are otherwise identical.
Whenever you change power tubes you should check/adjust the bias. Whether they match or not is irrelevant. Just because four tubes match doesn't mean they match four other tubes. You can have 30% or greater variation from quad to quad regardless of how closely they are matched to each other within each quad.
If you change power tubes, assume the bias is incorrect until you establish otherwise. And turn the bias DOWN before rolling in any new tubes to prevent inadvertant overcurrent operation.
