The 12AX7 and the ECC83 are the same tube. ECC83 is the European designation. The ECC83 has a Mu (gain) of 100. The 5751 can be considered a low gain ECC83. It has a Mu of 70. So the 5751 has 70% of the gain as a 12AX7/ECC83 does. Something to consider when you tube roll.12AX7 are very plentiful because the original tubes were made in the millions and new production tubes are being made. So you will have no shortage of choices. Good luck in finding the right tube for your circuit. It may be a long trip.
