hi Mikie,The JJ KT77 is easy to make good sound, yes indeed!
Actually now I am suspecting that those tubes that does not sound good probably req lower G2 volatge! One day I will get a few more tramsformer at different volatges from 300V to 400V to test it out! If you do have that try it too...
Do try the Sino EL156, they are at least as good sounding as the JJ KT77 though, even at low bias it sounded sweet!Tks and best rgds
