I didnt sell the genes off but I did sell some of them..I also hope I didnt imply that they were totally better than a gene but they do however do some things better than the gene and the gene does some things a little better than the shuggies..Its a trade off but as the tubes break in more and more,I cant justify running the genes all the time being they are so expensive.Midrange detail on the shuggies is a little bit better and this is on highly accurate revealing speakers in my Martin Logan Monolith 2s.
Now my favorite tube over of the kt88/6550 is the Tungsol 6550 black plate..Of the 6L6gcs my favorite is the RCA black plate.
Shuguang is suppose to be comming out with these tubes in black plates in the near future so that should interesting.
