Jim,I read this, and the penny dropped; I have matched quartets of both the JJ and SED for a project I'm making right now, so I just went and measured the pins with a mic.
The SED pins measured at .091", and the JJ E34L pins at .090". Both these quartets were purchased from Usual Suspect vendors within the last six months.
Howcum you're getting skinny pins? Would this be super recent, within the last few months?
A caveat; the SED tubes have had the labels removed, but I can still make out where the paint was. It appears that they were stamped Groove. They still look like 'winged C' SED to me, which is what the vendor claimed.
