I just got my 5 pairs of KT 77's in. Pins are small, but happily the tubes are reasonably straight and there is only a small amount of loose flecks internally.
The loose mica stems from the fingers on the mica sheets breaking off. In fact, the illusion that the structure is crooked also stems from the fact that the fingers are quite long and they break erratically causing the mica to go in a bit crooked as a result. They seem to look crooked when lookinh in at the plane of the grid and screen support rods.
Seems that JJ should shorten the mica fingers a hair and increase the pin diameter by the same amount.
