Batch size?

Jim, how big was the batch size? Do you have any stability/failure info after burn-in?

To add to the discussion, I'm happy to see that there are more choices available. The JJ KT77's I purchased have no mica flakes. One may have a slight jingle, and some are slightly crooked.

But these issues seem trivial next to my stash of EI KT90 Type II's and III's, some of which are very crooked, jingles like Xmas bells, have botched soldering on pins, with some having big bits of mica floating around.

I enjoy the KT90's tremendously as they sound great and have been reliable (I avoided the recent red spotting ones). So far, I quite like the JJ KT77's sonically as well.

JJ KT77's may not have the best build quality per Jim. I'm not arguing what Jim reported, that's what he saw.

But to me, it looks to be built decently compared to tubes like EI KT90 that I've come to accept. I'm more than willing to live with minor build issues I see as long as JJ KT77 proves reliable, because it sounds quite good to my ears.

It may be too early, but I'd think many of us are interested if Jim or anyone has actual reliability data. Like batch size, failures after burn-in and causes. We seem to have one data point from EuroTubes, and I think it'd benefit us all to have more.
