Re: Testing & Examination Results - Not Good News!

Greetings all!
I'm the guy Jim McShane quotes in his post below.
Couple comments on the posts following Jim's:
1. Jim didn't "rant" about anything. I sent him a note concerning my experience with the KT77s when I heard he had some coming.
2. All the tubes I got were crooked to an extent I consided a No-Go, rattled like hell and sounded like shit! There is no other way to say it. My amp is very forgiving and sounds good with almost anything in it, some better than others.
3. When the wife walked in the room as they were playing she commented that something was wrong with the sound. That tells me a lot - because she is not well versed at all WRT tube amps.
4. Letting Eurotubes know immediately I wanted to send them back based on lousy construction and sound got me the "it'll cost you 20%".
5. Reading "Bob's" explanation below - I don't buy it for a second. Excuses - and not very good ones at that.
6. Do I sound a little PO'd? A bit. But I now figure the 20% was cheap insurance and a reminder on where not to purchase in the future.
7. Maybe the productive thing to do was during any T/E phase, if any was done, was a recommendation to halt any further production until the problems were corrected before sending out to the tubular masses - most of whom are pretty knowledgeable and picky.

Well that's my "rant". Flame if you see fit. Just remember that Jim McShane is a Pro all the way and like some of us - isn't afraid to raise the bullshit flag (my term) when it's warranted.
