I fully understand Jim's assertion. The ratings are rather arbitrary, and as with most specifications, are stated in such a fashion for marketing purposes (or at least in part).I've made observations that 5692 don't last as long as their 6SN7 counterpart in some gear, and I'm trying to correlate this observation to possible explanations. The most probable one IMO is the 5692, however underrated their specs may be, is still a less robust tube then a 6SN7.
