Due to a changeover, as well as lawsuits, the St. Peterburgs plant in Russia is not allowed to use the Svetlana brand name.So they changed their name to "Winged C" brand. The Svetlana brand is made in the Reflector Factory in Russia.
As for sound issues, I have no opinion. As for reliablity issues, the Flying C 6550's (St. Petersburg) are almost as good as the old GE and Tung-Sol's.
Of course, no brand made today can hold a candle to the Tung-Sol's.
