i actually have tried JJs in a VAC 70/70 and they sounded awesome. definitely my favorite, bettered western electrics. the JJS were more open, better frequency extension, and more focused, while maintaining a magical midrange.so, i guess i need to hunt down other cary 805c owners and see what they use. right now i've got electroharmonix, which may not be bad for the amp, but i know how much good tubes can improve things, so i of course started looking as soon as i got the amps.
