The first electrolytic filter capacitor in the stock W5M power supply is too large for the rectifier tube. A common problem with these amps which causes premature failure of the rectifier. I would use a 4ufd,600v oil cap as the first cap after the rectifier. They are large rectangular caps with ceramic or studs sticking up on the top. Also I would change the 12au7 to 6sn7GTB. Ray
