Zu Audio, for instance, often uses a large "full-range" driver to cover most of the frequency spectrum. A separate tweeter (or "super-tweeter") then rolls in to augment HF response above 10,000 hz or so.

Another of the more common types in "full range" type speakers is a large full-range driver with a "whizzer cone" or a super-tweeter in a concentric configuration.
