I've ordered the foam surround kit and gaskets form Simply Speakers and will refinish the cabinet before installing them.

Yes, new speakers would be a solution; but I'm retired and look for things to do that are within my abilities and that improve things. Re-habilitating these speakers fits that goal. Besides, for less than $50, I don't think I could replace these speakers.

Finally, if you think those Baby Advents look bad, wait until you see the '70s large advent 'bullnose' speakers I will do next. :)
