Speaker Repair

I've just rescued my vintage stereo system from my daughter. It's in need of work.

The system consists of a Pioneer SX-727 receiver, a Pioneer 12-D turntable, a pair of large Advent speakers, a pair of Advent shelf speakers, and a more recently acquired Sony dual cassette deck. I also have an Advent single cassette deck that is no longer in use because it lost one of the stereo channels. I purchased the receiver, turntable, and large Advent speakers in the mid '70s. I added the Advent cassette deck later and picked up the shelf speakers when my daughter took the system off with her to college. I just bought the Sony cassette deck because I have a lot of vintage cassettes that I want to hear again.

The receiver needs a complete going through. I can play through it from the cassette deck but haven't been able to get the FM side to work. The turntable needs to be repaired. I plan to take them to a service center in Austin, TX.

The Sony dual cassette deck works fine for playing old cassettes and even for duping.

I've not decided what, if anything, to do with the Advent cassette deck.

The speakers all need to be repaired. I'm thinking about tackling them myself starting with the shelf speakers. Before jumping into it, I thought I'd ask around on forums for advice.

Here's a pic of one of the shelf speakers.

Can anyone tell me how to identify the Advent speaker models? The user manuals are long since lost. The cabinets have no information that I can find. I want to be sure I order the correct parts.

FWIW I'm 80+ years old, retired from 40+ years in IT, primarily software.
a geezer with good hearing
